Thank you for your interest in Camp Courage Missouri! We are pleased to offer two volunteer opportunities.
Camp Counselor
We seek enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Camp Counselors. Camp Counselors play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and enriching summer camp experience for our campers. Counselors will work on a team with at least one other counselor and 4-5 campers. There is a minimal physical work expectation, such as walking or standing. Counselors are also responsible for:
- Supervising a group of campers throughout the camp day, including during meals, activities, and evening programs.
- Create positive relationships with campers and create a supportive cabin environment.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers at all times.
- Closely monitoring campers during activities.
- Participate in the activities with the campers.
- Assist campers with personal hygiene and bedtime routines.
- Communicate effectively with camp staff regarding camper well-being and any concerns.
- Attend the staff meeting and read all communications prior to camp starting.
CREW Team
We are also seeking volunteers to join the CREW team. CREW members must be at least 12-years-old and is expected to complete moderate physical work such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting. As well as the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.While this team does not directly supervise campers, they are the ones that help our camp run smoothly and effectively. CREW may be responsible for:
- Set up and arrange furniture, games, and activity stations.
- Decorate campgrounds and activity areas according to program themes.
- Transport and unload equipment and supplies to designated locations.
- Assist in the preparation of meals and snacks, as needed.
- Ensure the safety and accessibility of all camp facilities.
- Clean and sanitize all equipment and facilities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
