Thank you for your interest in Camp Courage, a three-night, four-day, all-inclusive camp designed specifically for adults with special needs. As a non-profit organization staffed primarily by volunteers (nurses are offered a stipend), we're dedicated to providing a safe and enriching experience. Our diverse volunteer team includes speech therapists, bankers, clerks, pastors, teachers, managers, and retirees, all working together to create a supportive environment. A team of four registered nurses will be on hand to provide camper care and medication administration.
While we strive to support a wide range of needs, our team's expertise allows us to serve many, but not all, applicants. Therefore, we require a brief application process to ensure the safety and well-being of every participant. We want to ensure Camp Courage is the right fit for your loved one. If your applicant is new to Camp Courage, please follow these steps:
Complete the online application: Provide detailed and honest information about your applicant's strengths and needs. This will help us prepare appropriately should they be accepted.
Phone Interview: Our director, Ashley Fields, will contact the primary caregiver to discuss the applicant and answer any questions you may have about Camp Courage. This conversation will help us determine if the camp is a good match.
Review and Decision: Ashley will share the information with our nursing and leadership teams. They will carefully review the application and assess our ability to meet your applicant's support needs.
Notification: Ashley will follow up with a phone call to share the team's decision. If your applicant is accepted, you can then officially register them for camp.
